Books I've Read This Year

So far in 2012, I have read 27 books. Here are a few of them.

  1. How did the Invasion USA novelization match up against the film itself? The author is the same who turned out the post-nuke "Warlord" series around the same time; I think it was a psuedonym used by authors Rich Rainey and some other guy.

  2. Deathwatch is apparently available in a Kindle edition. Sold!

  3. I'm curious what you thought of: Oktoberfest, Killer On the Heights, Invasion U.S.A. and Deathwatch. Why? Because I own them and haven't yet read. Cheers on a great blog!

  4. DEATHWATCH is really good. I've seen the film version with Andy Griffith called SAVAGES, and it's a very faithful adaptation. DEATHWATCH is apparently a Young Adult book, but I didn't get that impression while reading it. It's an imaginative little desert thriller.

INVASION USA is also a fairly faithful novelization of the Chuck Norris movie, but adds characterization (it would have to, because the film has almost none). There's more material with Norris' Indian mentor and some extra action scenes.

OKTOBERFEST I didn't like so much, and KILLER ON THE HEIGHTS is a stunningly racist crime drama with one of the most unlikable "heroes" I've ever read.
