Enos!

I'll bet you didn't know Enos had his own show for a season.

The concept of ENOS is that Enos (Sonny Shroyer) arrested a dangerous criminal in Hazzard County and received a transfer to the Los Angeles police department, where he was partnered with a streetwise, jive-talking black cop (Samuel E. Wright) and drove his bosses crazy with his bumpkin personality and penchant for destroying police cars in his earnest pursuit of justice. It lasted the 1980-81 season, and when CBS canceled it, they moved Shroyer back to THE DUKES OF HAZZARD, where he resumed his role as Sheriff Rosco's deputy as though nothing had ever happened.

Never could understand why anyone thought moving ENOS to the big city was a good idea. NBC also moved LOBO to the big city of Atlanta that same season and changed the great opening sequence, the great theme song, and half the supporting cast. But I understood that one, at least, because it was Silverman's NBC. :)

All I really remember about ENOS is that the show had a couple of fans in my 7th grade class who kept calling everyone "Buddy Ro" for, oh, about a month or so.

My boyfriend swears nobody remembers Enos, but now I have proof!

All I remember about the show was when Enos went into a bar asked for coke and someone gave him a vial of cocaine. Good TV for sure!
