I Said You Know Why I'm Here, Don'cha?

Burt Reynolds in WHITE LIGHTNING kicks more ass than anyone has ever kicked.

GATOR was just on TV a couple of nights back, and while it isn't as good as WHITE LIGHTNING it does feature that awesome stunt in the climax where Jerry Reed rolls the truck while Reynolds clings to the side. The stuntman who doubled for Reynolds must have made contact with that truck when he hit the dune, and if not barely had breathing space between himself & the vehicle.

I've gotta say, jumping in, I think I kinda prefer GATOR overall, now that it's come up. There's something much darker about it that I find interesting, and, well, Jerry Reed...

I'm with you on this 100%, MGM never released a widescreen edition of this on DVD and it's a shame. I saw Quentin Tarantino on Leno say that only 2 things scare him: "Women and the Police", and he DID NOT give credit to "White Lightning" for the quip. Kudos also goes to the great ending.
